“Restrictions again, Mr. Potter?” a smooth voice said, the sweep of his flowing coat announcing his arrival in the drafty room. Harry gripped his pencil tighter, frowning as his teacher stood a few feet away from him, his arms folded neatly over his chest.
“I…” he started to say.
“Save your excuses, please,” the man said, his dark eyes glinting in the afternoon light that seeped in from the high windows. “This is your third meeting this month, and frankly, your explanations are becoming weaker by the day.”
“But sir…” Harry said softly, frustration clear in his voice.
“So, if you could please enlighten me,” he said, darkly amused. “Why is it that you’ve not turned in any of your work this week?”
“I tried to explain to the damn headmaster, but he doesn’t believe me!” Harry snapped.
“Language, Mr. Potter,” he said icily. Harry fumed silently, glaring daggers at the man. He took a deep breath and nodded. “Yes sir,” he said through gritted teeth. “I’m waiting,” the man said. “Please, tell me your reason.”
And so he did.
“…And then before I could stop him, he grabbed my book bag and ran off with it, smashing the trees! He even broke the fences around the property. I tried to follow him, but my friends stopped me,” he said breathless from his long tale. “And that’s why, sir, he has all my books and homework with him!”
The man peered at him, a faint frown fixed on his face. “Mr. Potter,” he drawled slowly. “You expect me to believe that a giant broke into your rooms, stole your book bag, and then proceeded to demolish the front yard before running off into the wilds?”
Harry nodded vigorously. “You have to believe me, Sir,” he said. “I shouted at him and…” The man held up one hand silently. “Enough, I’ve heard enough,” he said. “Just…go to your rooms for now.” Harry sighed. “You don’t believe me either!” he grumbled as he grabbed his pencils and loose leaf binder, stomping from the room.
The man rubbed a hand over his tired face and sat at his desk, jotting notes down in Harry’s folder.
Patient continues to resist medications, believes that he is existing within a magical world, complete rejection of reality. Recommend that patient’s dosage be raised by 15 ccs.
He closed the folder and smiled slightly. “Giants indeed,” he murmured, sighing lowly.
