“Kneel before Zod.”
Lex’s eyes flashed once, his voice a warning growl.
A million things flashed through Clark’s mind, instant refusals and angry denials. And yet, out of his instinctive urge to refuse, a flickering need pulsed heavily, a need that called and whispered seductively.
Clark stared back at Lex, ‘no, Zod,’ he thought furiously.
He felt his legs give, his body following the command, his stomach twisting, heart racing. His mouth dry, he watched Zod’s hand hover in front of him. Clark shifted his weight, the necklace tucked safely in his palm.
‘Kneel’. The word echoed in his mind. ‘If he were Lex,’ his brain chanted. ‘I...’
Clark forced his hand upwards, taking in the smug, triumphant smirk that Zod wore, pushing aside the bolts of lust that tingled all the way to his fingertips. The smirk gave way to pain and Clark mourned the moment that their hands broke contact.
As Clark walked through the hospital, several thoughts circled his mind. The memory of the words and the urge to kneel, the desire to give in to the unspoken sensual promises, and the bitter regret that was on the tip of his tongue as he walked away.
