Rebound…
It’s all over the boards. The word leaves a sour taste in his mouth.
That word. It’s all that he can’t hide, all that he won’t admit, all that he can’t accept.
The angry and incredulous texts, the responses, it all stings. He can’t look at the messages.
This wasn’t what he wanted, not what he intended, and it’s wrong, so wrong.
Rebound…
No one actually says the word to him, maybe its better that way.
She knows, he thinks. She smiles sadly, counting down the moments till he blurts the words out.
God it hurts, facing the truth.
