Aurora sighed as she turned the fan up, the blades moving the sticky air around the bedroom. She felt the ripples of warm air blow across her thin tank top, her skin slick with sweat. She closed her eyes, a bead of sweat running down her temple, curving over her cheek and neck. “God…”
“Of all the weeks for the air conditioning to conk out,” Kyoko murmured as she stretched on the bed.
“Be thankful your hair’s straight,” Aurora sighed again. “Mine’s about to become a ball of frizz. I look like a puffy poodle.”
“You look beautiful,” Kyoko countered softly, her eyes closed as well.
“Your eyes are closed,” Aurora said, an amused smile curving her lips.
“I know what you look like; I can see you now in my mind, as beautiful as you were this morning,” Kyoko said, “Now lie down, hmm?”
Aurora tugged her shirt off and did so, curling up to Kyoko, her hair hanging in damp ringlets from their shower not long before. “This heat…I need relief,” she said.
“I say we take this weekend for ourselves,” Kyoko said, opening her eyes a little. “We’re both free till Monday.”
“Mhm,” Aurora said. She ran her hand over Kyoko’s warm back, tracing her spine with gentle movements. “What did you have in mind?”
“I’m booking us into a swanky hotel for the weekend,” Kyoko said.
“Kyoko…” Aurora started to say. Kyoko smiled sleepily and pressed one finger to Aurora’s lips.
“Hush,” she said. “The honeymoon suite will be perfect. Just think my love, a Jacuzzi bathtub, wine and strawberries, silk sheets and…” she trailed off dramatically, “Most importantly, air conditioning.”
Aurora giggled quietly. “Deal,” she said. “Even just a room with air conditioning, no bed at all would have been fine.”
Kyoko leaned in closer, kissing her. “Pass me the phone?”

Aurora shivered delightedly, her skin covered in goose bumps. “Oh, this is heaven,” she said. She tugged her robe off and stepped into the Jacuzzi, the bubbling scented water enticing her. Kyoko smiled and poured two flutes of wine. She carried them over and stepped into the tub as well.
“I think that poor bellboy was more than a little flustered,” she said. She handed one flute to Aurora, the bubbles tickling her legs.
Aurora shrugged, her mouth curved in a naughty smirk. “Maybe next time he’ll think twice about ogling you,” she said.
“You do come by the possessiveness honestly, don’t you?” Kyoko laughed a little. “Though that kiss was certainly something, I think you knocked his and my socks off.”
“It runs in the family,” Aurora said, nodding. She sipped her wine and moved closer to Kyoko, the warm water and the cool air in the room combining perfectly.
Kyoko smiled and pulled her in close, claiming her lips in a heated kiss. “Care for a strawberry?” she asked when they parted, Aurora’s eyes heavy with desire.
“After,” she whispered, stealing another kiss.
