Gabriel eyed the gaily wrapped package on the table suspiciously. “Julia?” he called.
“Before you say anything, let me remind you that this is a special occasion,” Julia said.
“I thought we discussed this,” he said, poking the box carefully.
Julia smiled. “You discussed, I planned otherwise. Now open it, it’s just a present, it won’t bite you.”
“I beg to differ,” Gabriel murmured. Julia laughed, walking over to him. “Only I bite.”
Gabriel snorted. “You didn’t need to get me anything,” he said.
“Of course I did,” Julia said. Gabriel cupped Julia’s cheek. “Just you, that’s all I need.”
