Popcorn fluff, literally. Halloween-ish popcorn fluff actually. Happy Early Halloween!

"D'you think it's possible for that to be true?" Alex asked while poking through the popcorn bowl.

Mulder chewed on a piece of popcorn thoughtfully. "I think, more importantly, the real question is how could we say it's not possible," he said finally.

Alex tossed a kernel at Mulder while laughing. "And I suppose you have a reason for that?" he asked.

In all seriousness, Mulder stared at Alex. "You can't tell me that you're not aware of how many other planets that are out there, just waiting to be discovered. Just imagine, whole entire galaxies, beings from other worlds, intelligence beyond our own comprehension."

Alex licked his upper lip slowly, aware of Mulder's eyes following its path hungrily. "And what if the beings aren't friendly? Then what? What if they're all like the grays?" he said, a hint of challenge in his voice.

Mulder pulled him close before licking the speck of salt by the bottom of his lip. "Not all other beings are monsters from outer space Alex," he said, his voice low and thick.

Alex closed the distance and brought his mouth to Mulder's. He held the kiss, his tongue slipping and tracing his lips, drawing a moan from him, as the kiss went deeper. Alex pulled away with a smirk as Mulder threw a small piece of popcorn at him.

"But it makes for a better movie if they are," Alex said as he turned off the 'Monster Marathon' on the Space channel, ignoring Mulder's pretend protests as he pulled him in for another kiss.

You take sci-fi and aliens and movies and make them fabulous! This is another one of me not watching the series and not knowing the characters, but I really didn't need to in order to enjoy this.

That line seriously brought it all together. To think, I used to just be a fan of salt because I thought it was tasty. Look at all the opportunities I've missed! I'll never look at popcorn the same way again!

Pretend protests are my favorite!

lol, thanks!

Ah X-Files, the fandom that started it all for me. I never lost my love for them. This was part of a Halloween challenge. My prompt was "Monsters". Fluff was as far as I got cause I was busy with my Four Brothers angst.

I'll probably do other challenges (after the holidays!!!) but I won't be doing the [livejournal.com profile] spook_me again until next Halloween. But I'm glad you enjoyed the challenge and wow! I'm pleased that you chose this to be your first one. :-)
